MATT DALY April 12-23, 2010
Pinedale Middle School

Jackson Hole poet Matt Daly returned to Pinedale this past April for a two week poetry residency with Pinedale Middle School 5th & 6th grade students. Matt has been coming to Pinedale for PFAC residencies for 4 years now and, as always, leaves a lasting impression on his students. Specifically, Matt worked with students on poetry structure and writing their own personal poems rooted in past experiences. At the end of each week students read their poems aloud to their classmates.


DANCER'S WORKSHOP - PHS April 5-9, 2010
Pinedale High School

Dancer's Workshop continued their ongoing residency with the Pinedale High School this past April. DW instructor Pasha Voichuk spent a week with PHS P.E. classes working on hip-hop and break-dancing moves which ranged from basic to extremely technical. Students worked in both individual settings as well as group settings in which dancers would bust their moves while surrounded by their peers. Overall, the students had a great time and feedback from the teachers was very positive.


MILLENIUM ARTS 2010 April 2, 2010
Pinedale High School

We've compiled all of this year's Millenium Arts Award submissions into one big PDF showcasing both the student's artwork for the project as well as the artist's statement for each work. Winner will be announced at the May 28 student art show presented by PFAC. The winner will have his or her concept cast in metal and placed on the Millenium Arts Sculpture which is located outside of the high school on the front lawn. DIANE FERLATTE March 1-5, 2010
Pinedale & Big Piney Elem. Schools

Grammy-nominated storyteller Diane Ferlatte returned to Sublette County for a week-long residency spanning the entire county and beyond. Diane performed stories for all students in the Pinedale Elementary, K-2 students in the Big Piney Elementary, all students in the LaBarge Elementary plus afterschool workshops in both Pinedale and Big Piney! It was a long week for Diane and the PFAC staff but, as usual, everyone loved Diane and looks forward to her return.


BOB BERKY Feb. 22-26, 2010
Pinedale High School & Middle School

Internationally acclaimed comedian, clown and playwrite Bob Berky spent a week in Pinedale as part of a PFAC residency which saw him conduct afterschool circus arts workshops with Pinedale Middle Schoolers, an afternoon acting workshop with the Pinedale High School Drama Club and a full performance for the entire Pinedale Elementary. When he wasn't in the schools Bob was conducting circus arts and writing workshops for adults in Pinedale and Big Piney.


STEVE SCHREPFERMAN Jan. 11-15, 2010
Pinedale & Big Piney High Schools

Cody, WY ceramist Steve Schrepferman visited the Pinedale & Big Piney School Districts as part of a PFAC arts residency which saw Steve work with both Pinedale & Big Piney High School art students. Students built clay vessels based on Steve's teachings and the finished products will be on display at a special art showing in on May 28. When he wasn't working with local high school students, Steve also worked with adults at an evening ceramics workshop at Rendezvous Pointe.


MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE Nov. 16-21, 2009
Pinedale School District - All Grades

Every other year, PFAC presents The Missoula Children's Theatre to the pinedale School District. Two actors from the internationally recognized children's theatre group come to town, audition and rehearse a cast of over 60 students (grades K-12) and put on two productions - all in one week! This year, MCT performed a children's version of Robinson Crusoe which had audience members in stiches for it's two night run. Check out some pics and a write up of the event by clicking here.


DANCER'S WORKSHOP Nov. 9-13, 2009
Pinedale Elementary School

For the past 13 years, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council has presented Jackson based Dancer's Workshop as a one to two week residency in grades K-9. The goals is to introduce students to dance at an early age and continue their development throught their years in the Pinedale School District. A team of instructors from Dancer's Workshop worked with the elementary students and focused on basic dance techniques as well as some more technical movements.

Pinedale Middle School

For the past 13 years, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council has presented Jackson based Dancer's Workshop as a one to two week residency in grades K-9. The goals is to introduce students to dance at an early age and continue their development throught their years in the Pinedale School District.This year, DW instructor Manny Sanchez taught Pinedale Middle School students the basic elements of Salsa dancing incorporating the aspects of social dancing as a main focal point.

Pinedale High School - 10th Grade
Every other year, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council presents Jackson hole poet Matt Daly as a artist residency in the Pinedale high School 10th grade. During Matt's week long residency, students learn the basic elements of poetry, write their own personal works and read them aloud in a "Poetry Slam" setting where they are ranked by their peers. Winning poets this year received gift certificates to Rock Rabbit and, as always, the competition was fierce with students writing great poems!
